I’d connected with Holly via Portfolio Models a couple of years ago, and we’ve been wanting to do a shoot together ever since.
So during a recent visit to Christchurch, we managed to finally organise a shoot together, focussing on shooting content for jewellery as opposed to my usual category of fashion.

Honestly I didn’t really have a shot list for this, or an intended plan on the lighting (not something I would usually do! but it’s important to practice thinking on your feet in any given situation and how to work with the lighting & location you’ve got) we just wanted to have a play around and see what we could capture with the natural light on the day.
I’m so stoked with the results, we got some beautiful dappled sunlight behind and on Holly, which really helped to make the pearls pop on her skin. We also achieved some portraits in blue hour which came out well, creating perfect monochromatic images.
